The District Administration of Kupwara has established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in Block Keran to enhance last-mile service delivery. The Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara virtually inaugurated these centres today to improve access to government services.
The newly operational CSCs serve the Gram Panchayats of Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo. Local residents can now access various government schemes and digital services right at their doorstep, significantly reducing the need to travel long distances for basic services.
This initiative followed a thorough ground-level assessment conducted by a dedicated team that identified service gaps among local populations. With the backing of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, the new centres aim to provide a comprehensive suite of e-governance services.
The services offered through these CSCs include essential government and public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion initiatives, healthcare, and agricultural support. Additionally, they will cater to business-to-consumer (B2C) services that enhance local economic activities.
The establishment of these Common Service Centres aligns with the government’s vision for holistic development in border villages. This effort aims to bridge the digital literacy gap, introducing technology-driven solutions to residents of remote areas.
Officials emphasized that these centres will effectively end the long travel times previously required for accessing basic services, thereby bringing governance closer to people. Local residents expressed their gratitude towards the District Administration for facilitating digital services in border regions.
As part of its commitment to “Governance at the Doorstep,” the District Administration reiterated its resolve to strengthen service delivery in the remote areas of Kupwara district. This initiative stands as a testament to the importance of ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their location, can access essential services efficiently.
