In a proactive move to combat illegal activities threatening our natural resources, Kishtwar Police intercepted and apprehended five persons involved in the unauthorized extraction of forest wood.
A team of Kishtwar police team from P/S Atholi, led by SHO PS Atholi Insp. Vikram Parihar, established a special Naka near Sheetla Mata Mandir Gulabgarh.
During the Naka duty, Naka party halted a Scorpio with registration number JK-17-5431, traveling from Sohal towards Gulabgrah. During the checking of the said vehicle, the Naka Party recovered two sacks and three Pithu bags loaded with forest produce, specifically Acer-like tree knots numbering 135, and arrested 05 persons on the spot, seizing the vehicle.

Kshitij Bhutani S/O Lokesh Bhutani R/O Delhi
Sagar Tamang S/O Angdak Tamang R/O Nepal A/P Dehradun Uttarakhand
Gan Magar S/O Bakil Magar R/O Nepal A/P Dehradun Uttarakhand.
In this regard olice have taken cognizance of the matter and registered case FIR No. 02/2024 under the relevant sections of the law at P/S Atholi and investigation taken up.
