
Kishtwar, July 17, 2025:
In a significant step toward empowering Project Affected Families (PAFs) through skill-based training, a one-year COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant) trade course under the R&R (Resettlement and Rehabilitation) Plan was formally inaugurated by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) at Government ITI Kishtwar.
The initiative has been launched in collaboration with Government ITI Kishtwar to provide skill development opportunities to the affected families of Kwar, Kiru, Ratle, and Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Projects.
A total of 13 trainees from these PAFs have enrolled in the self-financed COPA course, aiming to enhance their digital literacy and employability in the growing IT sector.
During the inaugural event, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was showcased by the team of ITI Kishtwar, highlighting the institute’s functioning, past practices, key achievements, and success stories of its trained candidates. The presentation received a highly appreciative response from the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the work culture and dedication of the team at Government ITI Kishtwar. He emphasized the crucial role being played by the institute in transforming the lives of youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“Without the active presence and leadership of the Principal of ITI Kishtwar, it is not possible to realize our shared goals,” remarked the Deputy Commissioner.
He assured full cooperation and said, “We will work together for the betterment of Project Affected Families.”
The event concluded with a motivational speech by the Deputy Commissioner, where he encouraged the newly enrolled trainees to stay committed, work hard, and make the best use of this opportunity.
His inspiring words left a lasting impact on the young learners, reaffirming their determination to pursue skill training with dedication.
