Kishtwar, July 12, 2025:
On the directions of SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, a five-day Crash Course on the New Criminal Laws-2023 commenced today at District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar. The course is aimed at equipping police personnel, including officers and Investigating Officers from various units of District Police Kishtwar, with a comprehensive understanding of the recently enacted criminal laws promulgated by the Central Government.
The primary objective of the course is to ensure that police officials are well-acquainted with the key provisions of the New Criminal Laws-2023 so they can be implemented effectively on the ground, both in letter and spirit.
The course was formally inaugurated by Addl. SP Kishtwar Sh. Pardeep Singh Goria-JKPS, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized the necessity of understanding all three newly introduced laws:
• Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023 (BNS)
• Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023 (BNSS)
• Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-2023 (BSA)
He highlighted their significance in reshaping the country’s criminal justice system and enhancing law enforcement practices.
The first day’s lecture session was delivered by I/C Dy SP DAR Kishtwar Shri Vijay Kumar, along with other officers, covering the critical features and legal intricacies of the new legislations.
