Kishtwar, July 12, 2025:
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing IEC campaign against drugs under Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan.
The meeting aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of awareness activities conducted in various educational institutions, Panchayats, and Urban Local Body (ULB).
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the role of nodal departments in ensuring the effective implementation of the campaign and identified key issues, including inadequate display of IEC materials, limited video screenings, incomplete uploading of event and participant details, and absenteeism of designated resource persons.
To address these issues, the DC directed all nodal officers to ensure massive public participation, including School Management Committees (SMCs), Biodiversity Committees, and Youth Volunteers.
He also instructed officers and event coordinators to promptly upload all organized events on the designated portal without discrepancies and ensure maximum community participation and visibility of awareness content.
The DC directed concerned officers to attend a training workshop scheduled for July 14, 2025, at the Conference Hall, DC Office Kishtwar, to further strengthen the anti-drug campaign.
DC Kishtwar also chaired a meeting of District-Level Committee of (NCORD) to review ongoing anti-drug measures and assess the performance of enforcement departments in curbing the drug menace in the district.
The meeting were attended by PO ICDS Kishtwar, Dr. Rishi Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar, Kaiser Bhawani; SDM Paddar Dr. Amit Kumar; SDM Chatroo Naeem Ur Rehman; District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed, and other officers and event coordinators.
