Kishtwar. June 22. 2024 — In a decisive action against illegal activities, District Police Kishtwar intercepted a Mahindra Bolero Pickup Maxx (registration number HP24E/6786) in the Chatroo area, uncovering 102 bottles of illicit beer, each 650 ml, originating from Himachal Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team from PS Chatroo, led by SHO Chatroo, set up a checkpoint in Chatroo area under the supervision of DySP DAR. During the inspection, the vehicle was stopped and searched, revealing the concealed liquor. The driver, identified as Firoj Khan, son of Ilam Deen from Jhanjwani, Lehri Sarail, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, was arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 36/2024 at PS Chatroo, and further investigations are underway. This operation reflects the district police’s ongoing efforts to combat the illegal trafficking of contraband and uphold law and order.
District Police Kishtwar has issued a stern warning against engaging in such illegal activities, stating that any individual found involved in the trafficking or sale of contraband will face strict legal action. The police emphasized their dedication to maintaining the safety and security of the community and urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
