In its continued efforts to safeguard the youth and society from the dual threats of drug abuse and cybercrime, *Kishtwar Police organized a comprehensive “Drugs and Cyber Awareness programme” at the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar.*
The event began with an extensive focus on drug awareness. *DySP Headquarters Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS* delivered a detailed presentation on drug-related crimes and their devastating impact on human life. His session covered the legal, social, and health consequences of substance abuse, stressing how drugs destroy individuals, shatter families, and destabilize communities. The presentation also highlighted the law enforcement strategies being employed to curb this menace. Adding further depth to the program, *SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Insp. Firdous Ahmed,* highlighted various real-life cases of drug abuse reported in the district and their tragic effects on individuals and families. He emphasized the growing concern of youth falling into the trap of narcotics and stressed the urgent need for collaborative community efforts to break this cycle. Following the drug awareness segment, attention turned to the growing threat of *cybercrime. PSI Moin Khan* presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation covering various forms of cyber offenses including cyberbullying, online grooming, sextortion, phishing, and child pornography. His presentation educated attendees about digital threats, prevention strategies, and the importance of reporting suspicious online behavior to the authorities.
*As a gesture of appreciation and motivation, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS* felicitated several committed youth volunteers and activists with “Drug Awareness Yodha” Certificates of Participation for their commendable contribution to anti-drug initiatives. The following individuals were honored during the event: Khushboo Nadiya Butt, Anurag Sharma, Fazan Mahboob, Salma Layaqat, Abroo Wajid, Abid Hussain, Vishal Thakur, Rubba Jaan, Menakshi Devi, Sabiya Banoo Reshi, Rahul Ji, Bodh Raj, Mohit Kumar, Shivani Devi & Anu Kumari. Their dedication to raising awareness, supporting affected families, and mobilizing community-level campaigns was recognized as vital in the joint fight against drugs in the Kishtwar district.
The event was witnessed by SDPO Marwah Sh. Vijay Bhagat-JKPS, SHO PS Kishtwar Insp. Firdous Ahmed, school staff, and officers, whose presence added value and encouragement to the awareness initiative. Their participation reflects a collective commitment of all stakeholders—law enforcement, education institutions, and community leaders—to safeguard the future of the youth.
