In an initiative towards promoting child welfare, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma,JKAS, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar today distributed Non-Institutional Care Sponsorship benefits to 231 eligible beneficiaries for the financial year 2024–25, amounting to a total of ₹78,03,020.
This initiative is part of Mission Vatsalya, a centrally sponsored scheme focused on ensuring the care and protection of children in vulnerable circumstances.
The distribution underscores the administration’s commitment to safeguarding child rights and providing essential support to children in need, enabling them to lead secure and dignified lives.
The sponsorship assistance is extended under various eligibility criteria, including orphans, children with a single deceased parent, and those suffering from life-threatening diseases or living with disabilities.
The financial support will help address the critical needs of these children, particularly in the areas of education, nutrition, and healthcare.
The distribution event was held in the presence of Sh. Zubair Ahmed Lone, District Child Protection Officer(DSWO Kishtwar),JKAS and Chetna Sharma TSWO Kishtwar.
