Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing works under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) across all sub-divisions of District Kishtwar.
The meeting was aimed at ensuring timely execution and maintaining high standards of quality in the road infrastructure projects being implemented under the scheme.
During the review, ExEn PMGSY Kishtwar apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the current status and challenges faced in the execution of various PMGSY projects.
A detailed review was conducted of key road projects including Marwah to Mulwarwan Road, Yurdoo to Qaderna Road, Margan Top Boundary to Mulwarwan Road, Ikhala to Lopara Road, Atholi to Pallali Road, Gahan to Chandali Road, Cherji to Semna Bhata Road, Kuleed to Hullar Road, Palali to Machail Road, Tikkan to Mori Road, Sohal to Chitto Road,Kundal to Affani Road,Kuriya to Keshwan Road, Kandni to Ohli Road and other important Projects.
While reviewing the Margi to Sukhnai Road project, the Deputy Commissioner directed the intervention of State Quality Monitoring Team to conduct quality checks on this and other road projects in the district. Emphasis was laid on rigorous monitoring and ensuring that all works are completed within a one-year timeframe.
To strengthen on-ground development, the DC instructed all field officers and Officials including AEEs and JEs, to remain stationed in remote areas. Concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars were assigned the responsibility of regularly monitoring these projects.
Additionally, a committee comprising ACR Kishtwar and Tehsildar Kishtwar was constituted by the DC, to examine and resolve issues concerning the Hullar to Kuleed Road in a time-bound manner.
Strict directives were issued to the PMGSY department to take disciplinary action, including blacklisting, against non-performing contractors. The DC reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards substandard work and stressed the importance of quality control across all projects.
