J&K POLICE OBSERVED NATIONAL POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY IN KISHTWAR DISTRICT.

National Police Commemoration Day was solemnly observed at District Police Lines Kishtwar, paying tribute to the brave police personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s peace and sovereignty. The event served as a moment to honor the fallen heroes while reaffirming support for their families.
SSP Kishtwar, Shri Abdul Qayoom-JKPS, led the proceedings, a heartfelt tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. With deep reverence, he honored their memory by reading their names and emphasized the vital importance of instilling a spirit of patriotism and nationalism among officers and Jawans. He urged them to serve with unwavering dedication, integrity, and enthusiasm, reminding all that the nation stands tall today because of the sacrifices made by these valiant souls.
A special commemoration parade was held, with contingents from District Police, IR-22 Battalion, CRPF,CISF and the District Police Band, the parade was commanded by Dy. SP Sumit Bhagat.
SSP Kishtwar accompanied by other officers, personally served lunch to the family members of the martyrs, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and respect. The event allowed the NOKs to engage in meaningful conversations, fostering unity and shared remembrance.
As part of the interaction, SSP Kishtwar listened attentively to the grievances of the NOKs. SSP Kishtwar emphasized that the concerns raised by the families would be resolved on priority, directed the concerned officers to ensure prompt action and submit compliance reports without delay.
Gifts and other welfare items were distributed to the NOKs, further symbolizing the police department’s ongoing commitment to supporting the families of the martyrs. This gesture underscored the importance of maintaining a close bond with the NOKs and ensuring their well-being.
The event continued with the laying of wreaths and the showering of flowers by officers, jawans, guests, and the members of the martyrs’ families at the martyr memorial.
The event was attended by distinguished figures, including the officers from Army 11 RR, 17 RR, 7 Assam Rifles, CRPF, CISF, Retired Police officers and officers from civil administration along families of the Next of Kin (NoKs) of the martyrs also participated in the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, extending gratitude to all attendees, and a promise of continued support and future gatherings to strengthen the connection between the police force and the martyrs’ families.
