
*Advocates for Workers’ Rights, Says Funds Urgently Needed for Daily Wagers and Job Card Holders*
Kishtwar, 13 June: Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and former minister, has made an urgent appeal to the government to release funds for the clearance of wages owed to daily wagers across several departments. These departments include the Jal Jeevan Mission, JKPCC, R&B, Municipalities, and the Rural Development Department. Additionally, Saroori emphasized the necessity of releasing payments to job card holders who have worked under the MNREGA scheme.
Saroori highlighted the importance of timely wage payments for daily wagers, stating that these workers rely on their earnings to celebrate Eid with their families. He urged the government to ensure that payments are made without any further delays to support the working community during this festive period.
In his statement, Saroori also called on the L.G. administration to ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience regarding security, traffic management, drinking water, power supply, healthcare services, and sanitation during the auspicious occasion of Eid Ul Adha. He stressed the need for basic facilities to be readily available at residents’ doorsteps to facilitate a smooth and joyful celebration for all.
