In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully apprehended a fugitive who had been evading arrest for the past 16 years. The absconder was wanted in connection with case FIR No. 134/08, under sections 364/302 RPC and 7/27 I. A. Act, for the killing of one Bashir Ahmed the then Sarpanch of Nagni Ghad Keshwan.
Acting on a special tip-off, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar formed a special team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar. The team conducted a raid at the suspected location and successfully apprehended the fugitive, who will now be produced before the Hon’ble Court for trial in the instant case.
This meticulously planned operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the J&K Police to bring long-standing absconders to justice and ensure the safety and security of the region.
SSP Kishtwar has issued a stern warning to all absconders, urging them to surrender immediately. He emphasized that strict action will be taken against all those who continue to evade the law.
