Solid Waste Management Unit also inaugurated
DDC Pt. Suresh Sharma along with BDO Chowki Choura Tasleem Wani JKAS launched Swachhata Bank from Block Headquarter Chowki Choura.
Solid Waste Management Unit in panchayat Choura also inaugurated.
Giving details, BDO Tasleem Wani said that Swachhata Bank is the initiative aimed at bringing behavioural change among people by providing a Bank where they can deposit plastic waste including polythene bags,plastic bottles,wrappers of packets of chips etc.They shall be rewarded back in terms of SBM Cap,T Shirt,Momento etc.This will educate people that waste material is also a resource that can fetch them return value if it is disposed of in a scientific manner instead of throwing it on roads, lanes and drains,BDO said.He further said that Solid Waste Management Unit in Panchayat Choura shall help in effective management of dry waste which is being collected from different panchayats of Block Chowlo Choura.
DDC Pt Suresh Sharma appealed to general public to take full benefit of Swachhata Bank to make whole Block Chowki Choura free from plastic menace.
